International Mother Language Day

At Gurdwara likhansar Sahib mothers hold the fingers of their children and give them the depth of knowledge. This is the phenomenon of our Punjab. There are now schools like Helix Oxford Senior Secondary Schools that impose a fine per word for speaking Punjabi. The great scholars of knowledge do not know how it has been proved that speaking Punjabi will not lead to progress. The mother tongue and the child's relationship is the basis of his existence. Through his language he thinks, dreams and communicates with the outside world. The history of the adorned Likhansar Sahib Gurdwara of Talwandi Sabo Sahib (Punjab) is an example of loving touch. Importance of Gurdwara Likhansar and Bunga Likharis In Sabo Ki Talwandi, Bhai Mani Singh and Baba Deep Singh, the companions of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, used to write Birs of Holy Granth. Tradition has it that The Guru poured it into the water Ink made by Bhai Mani Singh's . people's Folklore say that Guni Kavinder Giani would be born in the mint of this Guru ki Kashi Vidya. The river of knowledge would flow from here. Even today in Likhansar Gurdwara, the sangat bows down to the thirty five letters and asks for the gift of knowledge and meditation.

According to Giani Balwant Singh's book 'Guru Ki Kashi - Itihas Talwandi Sabo' from Kotha Guru Ka, village Bathinda, the Punjabi language was considered very seriously in antiquity.

The old building structure of Takht Damdama Sahib consisted of twelve Bungas.

This Bunga was known for its teaching and learning of Gurmukhi characters. Here the alphabet was taught to write in a very beautiful calligraphycal way

(ੳ) Urā - like a peacock's egg

(ਅ)Aīrā - like a horse's bridle

(ੲ) Iri - like the feet of the Eagle

(ਹ) Haha - like a drumstick

(ਕ)Kakka - like the eye of a mammoth

What a wonderful pedagogy the child was learning by carving letters from everyday objects.
